What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI models connect securely to external data sources. Think of it as a USB port for AI, plug in your system, and the AI can work with your data without custom code.
What it does
Give your agents secure access to the data they need across four areas:
Customers
Find clients and see a full overview at a glance.
Portfolios
Positions, valuations, performance, and transactions.
Compliance & Risk
Guideline checks, KYC, and screening flags.
Relationships
Client notes and overdue follow-ups.
A complete set of tools, built on the OpenWealth open-banking standard, so the agent gets clean, structured answers, and the heavy lifting (weightings, performance, compliance checks) happens before it ever reaches the model.
How it connects
An aggregation layer sits between your PMS and the agent: data flows in through the OpenWealth API and is structured by the MCP server. The agent can only access the data you authorize, and every read or write happens with your consent, in the scopes you choose.
Security
The data never leaves your environment, and no confidential data is sent to external models. This allows your client advisors to retrieve portfolio data in seconds, generate meeting briefings, and verify compliance across all client accounts.
